Why You Should Celebrate Sustainability this Earth Day
Earth Day 2021 is the perfect time to appreciate what makes our planet such an incredible place to live, and to think about how we as individuals can better protect the environment. Absopure has spent more than 40 years demonstrating our commitment to sustainable business and bottling practices.
Today, we’re reaffirming our mission to ensure a better future for the world we share. Here are just a few of the sustainable practices we engage in.
Did you know Absopure has had its own recycling company since 1989? Based in Michigan, and across three global recycling centers, Clean Tech processes more than 200 million pounds of plastic annually, keeping over 8 billion bottles out of landfills and other areas that are harmful to the environment.
Once Clean Tech’s post-consumer plastic is recycled, it is then used to create environmentally friendly products—like our Eco-Pak bottles—resulting in a reduction of new plastic needed.
At Absopure, the way we make our products is just as important as the quality of the products themselves. Our half-liter Eco-Pak bottles are made from recycled bottles. Each bottle currently contains at least 10% recycled content, and we’re well on our way to achieving a 25% recycled content standard by 2025.
All of our single-serve water bottles are 100% recyclable. And our five-gallon bottles are not only 100% recyclable, but are sanitized to be used in our water coolers again and again as long as possible.
Plastic is innovative; a single bottle can be consistently recycled. As part of our ongoing green initiative, we help our home and office delivery customers protect the Earth by offering designated recycling containers that are regularly collected and then recycled at Clean Tech.
And you may know we’re involved with many races, stadium games and community events. The bottles we distribute to keep participants and fans hydrated are recyclable, and we supply these events with containers meant for responsibly recycling empty bottles on site.
While Earth Day is an important reminder to go green, we think it’s important to celebrate and protect blue throughout the rest of the year.
