How Absopure Gives Back to the Community

Absopure believes a community that supports each other and values good health is essential for leading fulfilling lives. That’s why we’re proud to support local organizations, charities and events in the communities we serve through sponsorships and donations. Read about ways Absopure gives back to the community.

Active Events

Providing community members with exciting opportunities to connect, stay active and enjoy clean, safe water is a priority at Absopure. Each year, we donate millions of bottles of All Natural Spring Water to organizations throughout the Midwest. We are proud sponsors and partners of various running events, such as Go! St. Louis, Crim Fitness Foundation, Hot Chocolate races in St. Louis, Detroit and Chicago, the Detroit Free Press Marathon, Ventures Endurance and more. We actively participate in exposition days prior to many races, where we give away exclusive swag, offer free water samples so the community can learn more about our products, and support the health and wellness of our customers.

Community Connections

It feels good to connect with the community. Absopure is happy to support empowering organizations and events with rich historical backgrounds in Michigan. Some examples of how we engage include:

The University of Michigan Athletics. For 35 years, Absopure has served as the Official Bottled Water of the University of Michigan Athletics, keeping athletes, faculty and students refreshed and hydrated at every home game.

Detroit Jazz Festival. The Detroit Jazz Festival has been one of the city’s signature cultural events, bringing the metro Detroit community together to celebrate the city’s musical roots as artists perform on the Absopure Waterfront Stage. We proudly support the festival with custom designed water bottles to keep attendees and musicians hydrated throughout the event.

The Parade Company’s America’s Thanksgiving Parade. America’s Thanksgiving Parade, taking place in Detroit, is one of Absopure’s most anticipated events of the year.  We have a long history with The Parade Company’s America’s Thanksgiving Parade and have provided our water to parade marchers, volunteers and event staff. Absopure’s tradition of quality and success is built on more than 100 years of experience. In fact, you can spot Absopure’s Vintage Ford Model T driving down Woodward Avenue on Thanksgiving.

Causes & Charities

For nearly a century, Absopure has supported organizations that improve the well-being of Midwestern communities and communities across the globe. From Flint to Kenya, here are just a few of the organizations Absopure partnered with in 2023.

HAP Crim Festival of Races. For three days every August, the City of Flint comes to life as thousands of runners, walkers and fitness enthusiasts take part in the Crim Festival of Races, hosted by the Crim Fitness Foundation. Founded in 1977 by Michigan House Speaker Bobby Crim, the foundation is committed to advancing the agenda for improving health in our nation’s communities—an initiative Absopure also cares deeply about. As the official water sponsor for the Crim Festival of Races, thousands of bottles of Absopure Plus Electrolyte Water are donated to these race events.

Hope Water Project. Clean drinking water has become readily accessible in the United States, a privilege that is not afforded to the Pokot people, an impoverished yet determined community in Western Kenya. Women and children of the Pokot community can spend a quarter of their days in search of water, and oftentimes, what they find is diseased, polluted and unfit for human consumption. The Hope Water Project helps support the health and well-being of the Pokot, raising funds through marathons and cycling competitions. Resources go towards building wells and bringing safe drinking water to the Pokot people. Absopure is honored to be a part of the Hope Water Project by donating water to the annual Hope Water Project 5K.

Komen Race for the Cure. As the world’s largest education and fundraising event for breast cancer, the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure brings together those whose lives have been affected by this devastating disease. For more than a decade, Absopure began sponsoring the Komen Detroit Race for the Cure, then expanded to events in Kalamazoo and Lansing. Throughout this long-standing partnership, Absopure has provided over a million bottles of water to runners and walkers racing for the cure to breast cancer. Additionally, Absopure employees have volunteered hundreds of hours of their time at Komen events.

Detroit Regional Dollars for Scholars (DRDFS). We take great pride in supporting an organization with such a strong mission to help the youth of the Detroit region with the goal of helping every student who wants to pursue post-secondary education. DRDFS has been providing resources and scholarships to students in 10th – 12th grade since 1990. For ten years, Absopure has sponsored the Detroit Regional Dollars for Scholars’ biggest fundraiser, the Annual Celebratory Luncheon. Proceeds from the event go directly towards their Next Level Scholars Program and scholarships for program participants.

JDRF One Walks. Over 38 million people are living with Type 1 Diabetes (T1D). The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, also known as JDRF, aims to create a world without T1D. They heavily focus on raising awareness and funds to cultivate community support, scientific research and both industry and academic partnerships. Every dollar put towards JDRF is allocated towards research and advancing the community’s T1D awareness. As a company that values health, Absopure is excited to support future races as the official water sponsor of JDRF One Walks in the Southeast Michigan area.

Rhonda Walker Foundation Give and Get Fit. Absopure donates water to over 400 health-conscious Metro Detroiters and friends from around the country during the fun-filled weekend of health, fitness and a 5K/10K run/walk along the beautiful Detroit Riverwalk. Proceeds benefit Rhonda Walker Foundation’s award-winning, five-year Girls into Women Program for inner-city teen girls that includes college prep, career and personal development mentoring, health and wellness and community outreach.

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS). Absopure partnered with LLS as a sponsor and provided water for the Light The Night Event at Hart Plaza in Downtown Detroit. The LLS is the world’s largest voluntary health agency dedicated to blood cancer. The LLS mission is to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families. LLS funds lifesaving blood cancer research around the world and provides free information and support services.

Life Remodeled 6 Day Project. Absopure is thrilled to be a part of the Life Remodeled Six Day Project in Detroit’s Cooley community, where thousands of volunteers come together to transform and uplift the area by clearing blight, beautifying spaces and fostering community connections. When this project takes place, we’re on the scene, keeping volunteers refreshed with Absopure so they have the hydration they need to make a lasting impact.

Every day, Absopure strives to make a positive impact within our communities near and far through service and water donations at charitable initiatives and events. It is a privilege to be a part of these initiatives as we remain dedicated to making a difference in our communities.
